Suspect in killing of Bulacan judge nabbed in Cavite


A MAN tagged as one of the suspects in the November killing of a judge in Bulacan was arrested by joint police operatives that tracked him down at early dawn Friday in a remote village in Cavite province, Chief Insp. Elizabeth Jasmin, spokesperson of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), said.

Jay Joson, 29, a resident of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, was arrested by elements of CIDG’s Anti-Organized Crime as well as the Cavite Provincial Police Office (CPPO) at around 2 a.m., at the Prime Global Hospital in Bahayang Pag-Asa, Molino, in the Cavite village of Bacoor.

Jasmin said Joson was under surveillance for more than a month until he was tracked down at the Prime Global Hospital, where the suspect’s two sons were reportedly under treatment.

Joson is among the suspects in the killing of Judge Wilfredo Nieves, of the Regional Trial Court of Bulacan on Nov. 11, 2015, at Brgy. Tikay, in Malolos, Bulacan. ANTHONY VARGAS
