• Suspects in Iloilo payroll robbery identified


    THE Philippine National Police- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Wednesday identified the suspects in the break-in at the Concepcion municipal treasurer’s office in Iloilo City. CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong, quoting reports from the field, said Richard Pendon and Rex Gonzales were last seen leaving the vicinity of treasurer’s office. The two were observed to have plenty of cash and went missing the following day. CIDG operatives coordinated with the family of Pendon, who surrendered and admitted his participation in the crime. A disbursing officer discovered the missing P329, 937 payroll money inside the vault last month. Magalong said robbery charges will be filed against Pendon, Gonzales and three others before the Iloilo prosecutor’s office.
