Bakas Pilipinas: Philippine Historic Preservation Society, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts spearhead the International Symposium on Seismic Retrofit of Unreinforced Masonry Heritage Churches in the Philippines slated January 13 and 14, 2016 at the National Museum Auditorium, P. Burgos Drive, Ermita, Manila.
The symposium will take on issues of reconstruction and retrofitting practices in the Philippines especially highlighting the need and the importance of different reinforcement strategies for church reconstruction. In depth discussions on contextual concerns, different structural analysis, and various remedies determined as employed in different case studies on international and local reconstruction projects and the solutions they employed will ensue.
