‘Tac’ aims high in Asian Youth Games


THE Philippines will be sending 56 athletes to the 2nd Asian Youth Games slated on August 16 to 24 in Nanjing, China.

Philippine Chief of Mission Tac Padilla wants to improve the country’s one silver, one bronze output in the first edition of the quadrennial event held in Singapore in 2009.

Padilla is pinning his hope on Filipino-American tracksters Kyla and Kayla Richardson. Besides the Richardson sisters, also expected to shine are shooters Celdon Jude Arellano, Enrique Gazmin, Ma. Sophia Graciela Reyes, Angela Dimaculangan and Amparo Teresa Acuna. The same is expected of badminton players Alyssa Ysabel Leonardo, Joella Geva de Vera, Mark Shelley Alcala and Alvin Morada as well as weightlifters Margaret Colonia, Ellen Rose Perez and Marko Llena.
