• Tacloban Airport cleared for operations

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing commercial aircraft (turbo propeller aircraft only) to operate at Tacloban Airport in Leyte.

The NOTAM canceled an earlier one, Notam C047/14, issued on Sunday after authorities assessed that the airport’s terminal is safe and ready for commercial use.

CAAP said all 41 airports across the country are now open for commercial operations but landings and takeoffs are still subject to prevailing weather conditions.

Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and other commercial airline operators were advised on the latest NOTAM from the aviation authority.
