Tacloban residents move to hotels for safety

TACLOBAN CITY: Hotels in this city are now fully-booked as residents left their homes for safety as super typhoon “Ruby” threatens to cross Eastern Visayas on Saturday evening.

Hotel Consuelo and Hotel Lorenza, both located at Imelda Avenue, have no more rooms left for new guests.

Nazi Emfrog, Hotel Consuelo manager, said that since Wednesday until December 6, rooms are already occupied by guests, mostly locals.

“We make sure that our food supply for our guests will last for more than a week,” Emfrog said.

The establishment also secured their linens and air conditioning units.

Hotel Lorenza receptionist Ren Canis said that all hotel rooms is fully booked until Sunday, a similar scenario when typhoon Glenda threatened the region earlier.

“Maybe they already learned from typhoon Yolanda and they were traumatized by it, which is why they want to be in a safer place,” Canis said.

Eastern Visayas is now under storm warning signal No. 2. PNA
