• Tagbilaran airport temporarily closed

An airliner with flat tires temporarily closed down the Tagbilaran City airport in Bohol on Sunday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said runway operations were halted while plane maintenance crews changed the deflated tires of a Manila-bound AirAsia Zest Airbus 320.

CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the plane was on the airport ramp preparing to take off when the incident occurred.

Apolonio said that aircraft such as Airbus A320, Boeing B737 and bigger planes will not be allowed to land at the airport until 6 p.m. Sunday or until the plane is towed away.
