A GRADE school student was recently tied up by his teacher and publicly shamed in front of other pupils of The Springbridge School in Taguig City (Metro Manila).
The mother filed a complaint before the Department of Education (DepEd) Taguig-Pateros District against the teacher, whose name was asked to be withheld while investigation is ongoing.
According to the mother, her four-year-old child was crying when he arrived home on January 12, complaining that he was tied inside the classroom for refusing to join the practice for a dance number in school.
She claimed she immediately texted the teacher who admitted to what she did and apologized.
Convinced that the punishment was completely unacceptable, the mother pursued a formal complaint against the teacher because her child is now afraid to attend classes apparently because of the trauma he suffered in the hands of his teacher.
The Springbridge School refused to comment on the matter, saying they are still conducting an internal investigation.
