Taiwan health industry mission

First delegation to the PH seeking cooperation

The Bureau of Foreign Trade is organizing the “2014 Taiwan Health Industry Orientation and Conference in Southeast Asia” for execution by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The orientation and conference will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Manila Hotel in Intramuros, Manila.

Since 2008, Taiwan has been promoting its medical service industry. In the early stages, Taiwan focused on promoting health check-ups and medical beauty treatments. Today its goal is to promote and exhibit well-trained professionals toward critical illness treatments.
“The medical service industry of Taiwan is equipped with high-tech equipment, professional medical teams and high quality service that are no different from other developed countries, but at more affordable costs. It offers almost one-fifth of the cost of medical services in Europe and the United States. Currently, more and more people from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, even United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia fly to Taiwan for medical treatments. Aside from its world-class medical service, Taiwan also has a comprehensive industry for cosmeceuticals, health and fitness equipment and long-term care for senior citizens. To further boost the health industry of Taiwan, we are dedicated in facilitating the “International Health Industrial Park,” and setting up specialized areas for medical treatments, health check-ups, medical cosmetology, medical related equipment, biotechnology pharmaceuticals and etc. We welcome all foreign investors engaged in health-related industries to further build strong business bonds with Taiwan, and invest in our health industry,” the Taiwan office in Manila said.

To introduce Taiwan’s health industry to SouthEast Asia, the group combined people from medical care, long-term care and biotechnology industries to form this Taiwan Health Industry mission: Exploring the Health Industry of the Philippines and Seeking Cooperation. “This time, we have seven reputable medical care enterprises and hospitals ready to participate including Northern Taiwan’s Chang Gung Hospital, Chang Gung Health and Culture Village, Mackay Hospital, Central Taiwan’s Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital, Tungs’ Taichung Metro Harbor Hospital and Formosa SOS that provide the emergency international medical transportation service; we also have the most valuable integrated medical care service provider in Asia, Excelsior Health Care Group, to offer all the participants a variety of health consultation services and discuss cooperation details.”
