TAIPEI: Taiwan ranked the second safest country in the world in 2015, according to a survey released earlier this month by US lifestyle magazine Presscave. Low exposure to crime, robbery and violence were the main reasons for the result, as well as robust performances in such areas as economic freedom, education, health care and human development. Top spot went to Iceland, with Denmark, Austria, New Zealand rounding out the top five in that order.
