TAMBUNTING Pawnshop has launched its web portal where customers can facilitate their transactions online to save them the hassle of going to an outlet given the heavy traffic in the metro.
In a statement, Tambunting said it launched Tambunting Online (www.tambunting.com.ph) where people can receive money in a quick, convenient, and secure way without leaving their desks.
The service is made possible via a three-way partnership between Tambunting Pawnshop, MFT Group of Companies, and GrabExpress.
With the partnership, users can input their information online and the details of their valuable items for evaluation, which would then be picked up free by GrabExpress.
Tambunting Online’s team will review the item offered by a customer and give a guaranteed best offer, which is sent through e-mail. After the item is reviewed and picked up by GrabExpress, the customer may track the valuable items through a GPS real time service which will be forwarded via e-mail.
The items will be appraised at Tambunting’s headquarters where a team of appraisers will provide a final offer to be sent through email. Upon acceptance of the offer, the customer will receive the cash within 24 hours, either as a bank deposit or as a remittance via Palawan Express.
“Filipinos are increasingly turning online to do their financial transactions. We are happy to see how Tambunting Online has brought together traditional and fresh ideas that would benefit the customer,” MFT Group of Companies president and chief executive officer Mica Tan said.
“As Tambunting marks its 110th anniversary, we are pleased to offer something that we know our market wants and needs. Throughout the years, we have developed a good ear for what our market wants,” said Ramon Tambunting, president of Tambunting Pawnshop.
For her part, Angeline Tham, head of GrabExpress and Grab Philippines, said: “We can assure Tambunting Online users that GrabExpress bikers have undergone a strict accreditation process prior to onboarding, which includes credit investigation and clearances. We are proud to be part of this project, which is a testament to our commitment to ensure the safe and secure handling of valuable items, and to help the Filipino public meet their ever-changing financial needs.”
Tambunting Pawnshop is one of the oldest and largest pawnshops in the Philippines and has provided short-term financing to more than 1 million clients for more than 100 years.
