Far Eastern University (FEU) stakes its unbeaten slate against National University (NU) in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 men’s basketball tournament today at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Tamaraws-Bulldogs match is scheduled at 4 p.m. while defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and University of the East (UE) face each other in the first game at 2 p.m.
FEU holds the solo leadership with a clean 4-0 card while NU and University of Santo Tomas (UST) are sharing the No. 2 spot with 3-1. Adamson University and De La Salle University are in fourth with 2-2 each followed by UE and Ateneo with 1-3 apiece, and University of the Philippines (UP) with 0-4.
The Tamaraws earned their fourth win via an 83-79 come-from-behind overtime win against De La Salle University on Saturday with Terrence Romeo and Ryan Roose Garcia leading the squad.
Romeo made 25 points, four rebounds and five assists while Garcia chipped in 19 points, five boards and three assists. Anthony Hargrove, Mark Belo and Roger Pogoy are expected to back them up against the dangerous NU side.
For its part, NU is also coming off a 74-60 morale-boosting win over UP on Sunday.
Two-time Most Valuable Player Bobby Ray Parks Jr., the nucleus of NU core, delivered 18 points and nine rebounds in their last game while Cameroonian Emmanuel Mbe was good enough to provide support, nailing 15 points and 12 boards.
