Previously undefeated Far Eastern University (FEU) faces De La Salle University at 4:00 p.m. today in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball Season 76 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
In the first game at 2:00 p.m., the Adamson University Falcons (3-5 win-loss slate), after losing in the past two games will try to notch a win against the National University (NU) Bulldogs (5-3).
The FEU Tamaraws will attempt to regain their winning ways after absorbing their first defeat (59-58) in eight games from the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Despite that loss, the Tamaraws remain at the top of the team standings with a 7-1 win-loss mark.
“It is a welcome challenge for my team after absorbing our first loss. We will see how they will respond and how we adjust,” said FEU mentor Nash Racela, “We just need to see how we adjust also.”
FEU’s leading man Terrence Romeo, who scored a season-low eight points on 3-of-16 shooting from the field, vowed to bounce back from their dismal performance.
But La Salle, under young head coach Juno Sauler, is ready to pull-off surprises against FEU. After nipping the Falcons (70-69) last Wednesday, the Green Archers (4-4) are aiming for back-to-back wins and their fifth victory in the second round.
