Far Eastern University (FEU) guns for its ninth win when it tackles Adamson University today in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The FEU-Adamson tip off is scheduled at 4 p.m. after the tussle between University of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of the Philippines (UP) at 2 p.m.
FEU will be relying on Terrence Romeo, Ryan Roose Garcia, Anthony Hargrove, Mark Belo, Roger Pogoy and Mike Tolomia as the Tamaraws are aiming to bounce back from their double-overtime 78-79 loss to the Growling Tigers last Sunday
With that loss, FEU fell to the second spot with an 8-4 mark along with De La Salle University (8-4). They are behind league leading National University, which holds a 9-3 card.
Adamson, carrying a 4-8 slate, is expected to draw huge games on Cameroonian Ingrid Sewa, sharpshooter Jericho Cruz, Roider Cabrera and Rodney Brondial.
On the other hand, UST (6-5) is in fourth with defending champion Ateneo de Manila University (6-5).
“We’re taking it one game at a time. Our focus right now is to make it to the Final Four first,” said UST mentor Pido Jarencio, who will be banking on Cameroonian Karim Abdul, Kevin Ferrer, Aljon Mariano, Clark Bautista and Ed Daquioag.
The Fighting Maroons are raring to notch their first win after failing in their 11 attempts with Raul Soyud, Henry Asilum and Joseph Marata leading the charge.
