Wushu Federation of the Philippines President Tan She Ling praised the performance of Filipino sanshou fighters in the 7th Sanda World Cup held last week in Jakarta, Indonesia. Jesse Aligaga of Iloilo successfully defended his 48-kilogram belt while Jean Claude Saclag of Baguio City won the 60 kg title.
“The gold-medal performances of our only two athletes in the 2014 Sanda World Cup serve to reaffirm WFP’s enduring tradition of excellence. Their golds are the 104th and 105th in our gold-medal collection from major international competitions,” said Tan.
