• Task force formed to probe Clark murder


    STA. IGNACIA, Tarlac: The Tarlac Police Provincial Office on Tuesday created a special task group that will investigate the killing of an official of Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC).

    Tarlac provincial director Alex Sintin said the task force will focus on the ambush of Engr. Ruel Tipay Angeles, 55, a manager of the CIAC Aviation Engineering Department.

    Angeles was with his wife, Crusenia, 56, and four-year-old grandson when the ambushed happened on Monday morning.

    A police report showed that Angeles was slowly maneuvering his car when two unidentified suspects approached him and peppered him with bullets.

    His wife was hit by stray bullets while their grandson was unhurt.

    Residents rushed to the crime scene and brought the victims to the Talon General Hospital in Tarlac City where Angeles was declared dead by physician Leo Barba.

    Angeles’ wife was taken to the Central Luzon Doctors Hospital and was declared out of danger by her physicians.

    Witnesses said the suspects wearing blue bull cap sped away in a black motorcycle to an unknown direction.

    A witness also said she saw two men sitting in the stage of the barangay as if waiting for someone prior to the shooting incident.

    Recovered were six empty cartridges from a .45 caliber handgun and some slugs inside the vehicle.
