OUTSOURCING startup TaskUs Philippines, an omni-channel customer care and back office support provider, said it will expand its presence in the country and strengthen its operational and employee capabilities after raising $15 million in equity funding.
The company announced on Tuesday that the $15M investment – raised from private equity firm Navegar — will support its expansion programs in the Philippines.
Navegar is a locally based fund established by individuals from the call center industry.
“The investment crystallizes our company’s expansion programs. This includes the opening of new locations outside Metro Manila and the improvement of infrastructure to enhance our ability to deliver better customer service,” TaskUs co-founder and chief executive officer Bryce Maddock said.
As the first phase of the expansion program, TaskUs recently opened its official flagship regional corporate headquarters located at 24/7 McKinley in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
This new facility has a floor area of 2,500 square feet, occupying three floors of office space and boasts facilities such as spacious meeting rooms, boardrooms, and recruitment facilities, as well as state-of-the-art data centers equipped with variable refrigerant flow air conditioning system, and 100 percent back-up power capability.
The new office facility is capable of seating 400 employees and will also have amenities like a gym, theater and facilities where employees can rest or sleep. This is the third site after the company opened offices in Imus in Cavite and at SM Aura also located in Taguig City.
Besides expanding locations and strengthening the company’s infrastructure, the investment will also be used to improve employee enhancement programs to reinforce what the company believes to be its exceptional, unique, and employee-centric culture.
“Since our aim is to be the employer of choice among BPO (business process outsourcing) companies, we are emphasizing improving our present employee enhancement programs,” Maddock said.
“Programs like the scholarship program for exceptional employees, the Learning Academy, and management training programs, to name a few, are all in place so we develop the best and most dynamic workforce in the industry and improve our customer service, while attracting other global customers to trust us with their business,” he added.
To date, TaskUs employs a total of 3,500 employees across all three sites and serves more than 100 of the world’s most recognizable companies.
