Tax court resets Corona’s arraignment

The Court of Tax Appeals Second Division postponed the arraignment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona for the 11th time after his camp sought a deferment on Monday. Corona was set to be read charges against him for alleged non-filing of Income Tax Returns in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2010 in violation of Section 254 of the National Internal Revenue Code. “We have a pending application for TRO [temporary restraining order]and injunction with the en banc so we moved to defer until and unless it will be resolved by the [tax court’s]en banc (full bench),” Corona’s lawyer, Reody Anthony Balisi, told reporters.
