The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said it is discontinuing the use of the alternative mode of filing tax returns through the use of eBIRForms email accounts starting August 1, 2015.
The decision to stop the use of the said alternative mode of filing came in the wake of reports that during the validation of attachments to tax returns submitted through the eBIRForms email accounts, numerous invalid format of BIR Tax Returns were found attached by taxpayers, including emails with no attachments, the BIR said in a statement.
Taxpayers who continue to use the eBIRForms email accounts in submitting their tax returns will receive an email message that reads: “This tax return submission channel is now unavailable and your tax return will be disregarded. Please download the eBIRForms Package v.5 and follow the procedures per RMC No. 31-2015 to submit your tax returns,” it added.
