A 35-year-old male teacher from Albay is the lone winner of the P17.9-million jackpot in the Lotto 6/42 draw on June 28.
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Acting Chairman Jose Ferdinand Rojas 2nd said the winner has already claimed the prize.
Rojas turned over the check to the winner at the PCSO extension office at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Tuesday.
“We are very happy that we were able to help our countrymen uplift their lives,” said Rojas
He said the winner plans to buy a house and lot, car and deposit the rest of his prize in a bank.
The teacher, who is single, is a long-time lotto bettor and he got the winning combination from the death anniversary of his grandmother.
