TV stars Mikael Daez and Kylie Padilla were spotted at a very different scene this week—teaching a classroom full of children at the Pag-Asa Elementary School in Caloocan City.
Both Save the Children ambassadors, the fellow GMA Artist Center talents chose to celebrate their birthdays doing something meaningful this year. Mikael turned 27 years old on January 26, and Kylie, 22 on January 25.
Almost 70 kids, whose ages range from seven to nine, attentively listened as their famous teachers read books to them and engaged them in fun activities.
“It’s nice seeing them smile because of what you do for them. It’s a simple thing for us, ‘yong mag-act ng konti or magbasa sa kanila, pero it’s a big deal dahil nakikita mo yung effect ng ginagawa mo sa ibang tao,” said Mikael at the end of class.
Besides being teachers for a day, Mikael and Kylie were also able to set free their playful side with the students, when they joined the students in traditional Filipino games during break time like patintero. They also personally attended to the students during a feeding program that warmed not just tummies but grateful hearts as well.
“This is the way I want to extend the blessings I receive, kasi these children are so pure. And I know that helping them experience a happy childhood can be an inspiration to them,” ended Kylie.
