A TEACHERS’ group said it will donate school supplies and teaching materials to students and teachers affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Benjo Basas, national president of the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC), said they will donate the much-needed school supplies and teaching materials in time for the resumption of classes on the second week of January next year. “The donations shall be coming from parents, students and teachers from participating schools in non-affected areas like Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Bicol. We are concentrating on providing help for schools in severely affected towns of Tanauan, Palo, Tolosa and Tacloban City in Leyte; and in the coastal towns of Eastern Samar. Initially, we are targeting at least 2,000 students from the area,” Basas said.
