TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Ambassador the Philippines, Dr. Gary Song-Huann Lin, gave P5 million in aid to some 2,000 indigent families, especially those from the hardest-hit towns of Peñablanca, Amulung, Iguig and Solana by the onslaught of super Typhoon Lawin in the province. Each family will also be given 20 kilos of rice from Taiwan. Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba said the aid will help the families as well as strengthen Taiwan’s relationship with the province in the area of trade and investment under the Cagayan Development Agenda – Caganda 2025. Meanwhile, Nueva Vizcaya government also gave hundreds of relief packs and cash donations of P360,000. Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillena personally gave the aid in behalf of Gov. Carlos Padilla the checks in the amount of P250,000; P2,000 plus and a personal check of P50,000 from Padilla. The relief goods were received by Helen Donato, Provincial Social Welfare and Development officer of Cagayan.
