The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa) of Taiwan through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) in the Philippines, has opened the application for the “2014 Taiwan Fellowship Program (TFP).”
This is to encourage Filipino experts and scholars to pursue topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, and Sinology—to continue advanced studies in Taiwan’s universities, colleges or research institutes.
The recipients are entitled to one direct economy-class roundtrip ticket subsidized between Taiwan and the Philippines, as well as a monthly stipend included.
Potential applicants must read the complete guidelines and apply online at http://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw between May 1 to June 30.
Applicants are required to submit their documents to Teco for screening and initial evaluation before June 30. These requirements include a completed copy of the online application form, resume with a publication list, research proposal containing three pages in principle using a standard research format, and two letters of recommendation, or one letter of recommendation and one letter of consent from the chief administrator of their institute.
The final approval will be done by Mofa that will invite scholars, experts and representatives to form an evaluation committee for the screening of the candidates. Furthermore, the candidate has to acquire a “Letter of Consent for Research” from universities or academic institutions in Taiwan and submit it to MOFA to complete the application process.
