Teenage US star out of slopestyle after crash

ROSA KHUTOR, Russia: Teenage US freestyle skiing starlet Maggie Voisin has been forced to pull out of the Winter Olympics in Sochi after injuring her ankle in a fall. The 15-year-old was set to become the youngest American to feature at a Winter Games since Kay Lunda competed in the speed skating in Sapporo in 1972 at just 14 years 288 days. Voisin injured her ankle on a rail during training on Friday and team officials decided she would not be able to recover in time for Tuesday’s slopestyle heats. Voisin was a silver medalist at last month’s X-Games and one of the favorites for gold in Sochi.
