BAGUIO CITY: An alleged drug pusher and his fifteen-year-old cohort were arrested in possession with marijuana leaves and seeds on Thursday while inside the Baguio City National High School (BCNHS).
School security guards collared Wilson Amparado dela Pena, of Upper Rock Quarry barangay here, and a 15-year old grade 10 student who served as his errand, police said.
The teenager was said to have been caught by his teacher allegedly selling marijuana to another student in the school two months ago.
Thursday’s incident came after a general assembly of the general Parents Teachers Association attended by at least 3,000 parents and faculty members of BCNHS where the lingering problem of drug dealing inside the school was raised as alarming.
BCNHS has at least 7,000 students from Grade 7-10.
Baguio City mayor Mauricio Domogan, noting the city’s drug problem has called on the parents to guide their children to keep them away from illegal activities.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has also admitted the city’s problem on drug use and its trade, especially marijuana which is being produced in the highland region via illegal hemp plantations.
