Out of annoyance, a 17-year-old male unleased a heavy uppercut to a 25-year-old coworker, knocking the latter who never regained consciousness as he was declared dead on arrival at Ospital ng Sampaloc on Monday evening. Aries Canlas, a copying machine operator, died of internal hemorrhage when his head hit the floor inside the Jian Internet Cafe located along Fajardo Street in Samapaloc, Manila. The incident happened at 2 a.m. A witness said Canlas creates trouble when in the influence of liquor. “He hit me by his bare hand first, so I just retaliated,” the suspect told investigator SPO3 Mildred Balinggan. The suspect and his elder brother were invited yesterday at Manila Police District headquarters. Anytime the suspect will be turned over to the City Welfare office for custody. It was learned that the suspect and Canlas were living in the same house on 1626 Don Quijote Street, also in Sampaloc, and have been coworkers for sometime.
