Dublin and Northern Ireland—The finding that environmental damage caused by coal plant operation, mining, and similar other activities is costing the global economy as much as $4.7 trillion a year comes as a shock. The report released last 15 April was commissioned by the Group of Eight economic powers and the United Nation’s Environmental Programme.
