Meanwhile, it was an afternoon of singing and dancing to classic tunes, as Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly in San Juan welcomed the Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales for the outreach activity sponsored by Pharex HealthCorp.
Pharex, the most prescribed uni-branded generics medicine in the Philippines, came over to give free maintenance medicines for hypertension, diabetes among others for the shelter’s residents. The donation was graciously received by Mother Superior Sr.Celia Fociños.
Led by Pharex President and CEO Tomas Marcelo Agana 3rd, the outreach was launched as part of the celebration of Pharex’s 25 years of making healthcare more accessible to more Filipinos.
At Pharex, we take pride in pioneering unibranded generic medicines, so that even the poor and disadvantaged can ensure their well-being. We are happy to continue that tradition, and hope that our contribution will help promote the health of our beloved lolas at the shelter,” said Agana.
Still energetic and looking radiant in a blue ensemble, Pilita regaled the audience with her timeless hits like “Kapantay ay Langit” and “Dahil Sa ‘Yo”, and joined them in fun games and sing-along sessions.
The residents, for their part, also performed for the guests, with a group even donning a floral dress for a classic Hawaiian dance number. Among the happiest moments of the afternoon was a spontaneous rendition of ‘Besame Mucho’ by Pilita, joined by Sister Fatima Benito and the Mother Superior.
The outreach activity was also graced by Pharex Sales and Marketing Vice President Timmie Guillermo and Corporate Equity Manager Abe Sia.
