The Pet Shop Boys are – finally – coming to town

British synth-pop giants Pet Shop Boys will visit Manila for the first time to perform their hits from a career spanning more than 20 years in a concert titled, Pet Shop Boys Live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Presented by Ovation Productions, the concert is set for August 6, and will bring the duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe to the Big Dome.

The show is part of an ongoing tour to promote the soon to be released album Electric. Produced by Stuart Price (Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Take That, Missy Elliott, The Killers), the compilation features eight new songs, plus one cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Last To Die.”

The album boasts of the singles “Vocal” and “Axis” and completes a collection of dance anthems, which the British electro-pop duo is known for.

The winners of the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and are listed as the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guinness Book of Records. The Pet Shop Boys also have six Grammy nominations since 1985 spawning 42 Top 30 singles and 22 Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart, including four number ones: “West End Girls,” “It’s a Sin,” “Always on My Mind” and “Heart.”
