“SHOUTING in bronze” is how I describe the Andres Bonifacio monument in the middle of the urban jungle that is Caloocan. The name of the area derived itself from this landmark, “Monumento.” Now dwarfed by buildings and shopping malls, that structure used to be really imposing—the gateway to Manila before the North Luzon Expressway was constructed.
