Three of the most popular and bankable leading men in today’s entertainment landscape are about to try their hand—and talents—on the live concert stage.
Known for their dramatic chops, Matteo Guidicelli and JC De Vera, along with model-turned-Pinoy Big Brother champion Daniel Matsunaga have formed a new group called “Dreamboys,” and—as they fervently promised—they will take to the Music Museum on July 11 to sing, dance and thrill the house.
According to the dreamy-looking boys, the whole idea of banding together for a show came from concert producers Hills and Dreams.
“They asked us if we would be willing to headline a concert together and we said, ‘Why not?’,” recalled Matteo, who should be able to get first-rate tips on concert performing from singing superstar girlfriend Sarah Geronimo. “Personally, as I see it, [doing this show]is me putting one foot inside a door, which will hopefully open more.”
Bits about the boys
From the time he entered showbiz in 2003, JC De Vera went on from supporting roles to lead roles with several awards under his belt. Ten years later, he joined ABS-CBN where he’s been given big breaks with top-rating teleseryes and movies including The Legal Wife and Halik sa Hangin, respectively. Besides being a matinee idol, he is also the proud owner of his own business, The Burgery.
Daniel Matsunaga was catapulted to fame after winning ABS-CBN’s hit reality show, Pinoy Big Brother: All In. Armed with his Brazilian-Japanese good looks, Daniel started his career in the Philippines as a model. He was then later discovered and introduced to the viewing public through GMA’s Network drama series, The Last Prince. After appearing in more TV shows in GMA and TV5, he entered the Pinoy Big Brother house, which set the course of his career to greater heights.
From an actor on TV, the big screen, and on stage, one would say Matteo Guidicelli is one act to watch out for. And the whole nation did after starring in his first big role in ABS-CBN’s Agua Bendita. He went on to Paraiso and most recently Inday Bote, and from these plum projects, there is definitely no turning back for this Filipino-Italian actor, model, racer, and singer.
As it is their first ever concert, JC, Daniel, and Matteo admit they’re not banking on their song-and-dance skills alone to entertain their fans.
“Expect surprises,” winked JC, who promised that they will make it a point to make hearts skip a beat in the one-night-only show. “Ginagawa namin ito for the fans—something to give back to them for all their support. Antayin nalang natin kung anong mangyayari sa concert.”
According to the producers, Dreamboys will be one spectacular entertaining evening as fans will get to see their favorite leading men sing and groove to local and international hits arranged by no less than Marvin Querido, who is dubbed the “Musical Director to the Stars.”
Adding musical power to the show is belter KZ Tandingan, and while Erich Gonzalez is sure to bring extra celebrity wattage to the stage.
The concert will be directed by up and coming events and TV specials director, Frank Lloyd Mamaril, and is produced by Hills and Dreams.
