A think tank has called on government to intensify intervention on the plight of internally displaced Filipino Muslims in Marawi as the emergence of new mujaheddin looms large, increasing the possibility of another Marawi-like war in Mindanao.

In a two-day forum held at the University of the Philippines, the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy (PCID) said the likelihood of another Marawi breaking out in Mindanao was large due to the active recruitment being undertaken by foreign and local jihadists among young Muslim Filipinos.
