Third batch of OFWs from Libya arrive in Manila


Another government-chartered plane carrying over 400 Filipino evacuees from besieged Libya arrived in Manila on Thursday night.

Philippine Airlines Flight PR 8009, the third chartered plane by the government touched down around 11pm at the NAIA Terminal 2 in Manila.

Moreover, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert Del Rosario asked for the remaining Filipinos in war-torn Libya to stay connected with the Philippine Embassy and the Rapid Response Team (RRT) which is composed of personnel from DFA, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Philippine National Police (PNP).

DFA reported a total of 3,300 repatriated OFWs from Libya.

Meanwhile, other Filipinos in spite of danger imposed to their lives still choose to remain in Libya due to higher salary offer from their employers. PNA
