Last year, we launched a small book called Waylaying Innocence at the UP Rural High School. The title was derived from a poem in it by Emmanuel Dumlao, a co-teacher in the Department of Humanities at the University of Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). The second stanza of his “Art of Waylaying Innocence” reads:
