THOUSANDS OF DOGS, CATS VACCINATED IN BAGUIO

BAGUIO CITY: A total of 6,698 dogs and cats here were vaccinated during the first quarter of the year as part of Baguio City’s campaign towards a rabies- free city. Baguio has no case of rabies for the past seven years. Meanwhile, city veterinarian Brigette Piok reminded the public about the Animal Welfare Act which prohibits the killing and selling of dogs for food, with violators facing a minimum penalty of P1,000 and not less than six months imprisonment.
