Three brothers were arrested by combined operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine Army (PA) during an entrapment operation in Maguindanao late last week, the PDEA reported on Sunday.
PDEA Director Gen. Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Bobby Malingco, 35 years old, a habal-habal driver; and his younger brothers, Michael, alias Ken, also a habal-habal driver and Rahib, 25, a security guard. They are residents of Barangay Poblacion, Pagalungan, Maguindanao.
At around 6 a.m., elements of the PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA RO-ARMM) under Director Yogi Felimon Ruiz, augmented by the 7th Infantry Battalion and 6th Infantry Division of the PA, apprehended the Malingco brothers after they sold a plastic sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a PDEA poseur-buyer in Barangay Poblacion.
Confiscated from the brothers were ten pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu; and the P500-marked bill used as entrapment money.
Meanwhile, Abdulkarim Duma, alias Kari, 28, was also arrested in a separate entrapment operation in Maguindanao.
He yielded 12 plastics sachets of shabu and one Para Ordnance caliber .45 pistol with nine pieces of live ammunition.
The Malingco brothers and Duma are temporarily detained at the PDEA RO-ARMM jail facility. Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing before the Maguindanao Provincial Prosecution Office against them. An additional charge for violation of illegal possession of firearms (RA 10591) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code will be filed against Duma.
