Three-child policy gets support from Davao Health Office

DAVAO CITY: The Davao City Population Officer said he supports President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s proposed three-child policy. “Personally, it’s a very good policy,” Jeff Fuentes, Population Officer of the City Health Office said during the weekly I-Speak Media Forum held at the City Hall. Fuentes said the three-child policy can address the needs of the young people like better education and health care. One of the proposed ways to effect the policy is having parents being exempted from tax if they have three children or less and being taxed when having four or more. Duterte said he cannot force the people to follow the policy. It is a suggestion that you are in good hands if you just limit the number of your children. In support of the policy, Fuentes also said that the City Health Office is offering the No Scalpel Vasectomy to those who are incapable to pay for the service. He also assured that any misconception about the program, one of which is the allegation that it is cancer-causing is a fallacy.
