Felipe Padilla de Leon Foundation, Inc. and the Cultural Center for the Philippines celebrates the music of three generations of Felipes in the De Leon family through a first and one-night concert dubbed “Tatlong Ipe: Isang Konsiyerto” on December 4, Friday,
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the CCP Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.
Tatlong Ipe: Isang Konsiyerto will feature creations of National Artist for Music Felipe Padilla de Leon, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chair & Humanities Professor Felipe Mendoza de Leon, and multi-awarded composer & arranger Diwa Felipe de Leon.
The three Felipes have given musical expression to Filipino ideals, aesthetics values, intellectual life, and cultural history for three generations now. The changes in musical style and ideas from the father to son to grandson clearly reflect the changes in taste and sensibility from the post-war era to the second half of the twentieth century to the contemporary period.
Presenting the music of three generations of Felipe can encourage other families to look at their artistic lineage and make this known to the nation as an inspiration to the next generation, a way of fostering artistic creativity and affirming Filipino musical heritage
Admission to the concert is free. To reserve seats, please RSVP: Leonor Mae T. de Leon through mobile number +63927 8484680 or email email@example.com.
