Three people were shot and wounded in attacks by motorcycle gunmen in the cities of Pagadian and Zamboanga in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said.
Police in Pagadian said the attack occurred in the village called Buenavista. The victims, farmers Randy Bahunsua, 38, and Carlito Bahunsua, 58, were drinking when an unidentified gunman arrived and without any warning opened fire on them.
The attacker escaped after the shooting and the two men were rushed by villagers to the Jamellarin Hospital which reported the incident to the police.
Investigators said they recovered three bullet casings of a .45-caliber pistol in the crime scene, but the motive of the attack is still unknown.
In Zamboanga City, a motorcycle gunman also shot and wounded a Muslim man who was implicated in the killing of another Muslim man three months ago.
Police said the gunman shot Idar Barahama, 37, and escaped after the shooting. Barahama was shot in the back as he was getting his parked motorcycle in downtown Zamboanga. The assailant fled after the attack.
It was unknown whether the shooting had anything to do with the killing of Abdulla. AL JACINTO
