Three nabbed for illegal fishing in Pangasinan – Police


THREE fishermen were arrested dawn on Tuesday for using illegal fishing method off the waters of Dasol town in Pangasinan province, police reports said.

Dasol chief of police, Senior Insp. Roderick Gonzales, identified the arrested persons as Jerly Mayonte, Larry Tayoto and Crisanto Rabuya, all are residents of Infanta town also in  Pangasinan.

Gonzales said that the three were arrested by elements of Dasol police and troops from the Regional Public Safety Battalion 1 while at about 1 a.m. near the shore of Camaso Island in Tambobong in Dasol. The group were in seaborne patrol when they’ve spotted the fishermen.

Confiscated from the fishermen were three air compressors used as breathing apparatus for the illegal fishing.

The three are now held in custody at Dasol Municipal police station while charges are being prepared against them, the police official said. Anthony Vargas
