• Three nabbed for robbing grocery store in Manaoag


    THREE people, including two teenagers, were taken into police custody after they were caught stealing some grocery items in a grocery store in a remote village on Manaoag town, Pangasinan province dawn Monday, police reports said.

    Reports reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) operations center in Camp Crame identified the suspects as Kevin Mark Anthony Tacaca, 18; Jeomar Balolong, 18; and Francisco Esteves, 23, all are residents of the said town.

    Manaog police chief, Chief Insp. Edison Revita, said in the report that the three were apprehended at around 2:20am Monday while ransacking the Mercado Grocery on Rizal St., Poblacion of the said town.

    Chief Insp. Edison Revita, Manaoag Police Chief, said that they nabbed the suspects after they received a call that there was an ongoing robbery incident in the said grocery store.

    Revita said he immediately dispatched a team to check on the said incident. The team, led by Insp. Rowel Albano, caught the three while they were still busy stealing items from the store.

    Reports said that police seized three dozens of junk food packs, canned goods, alcoholic beverages, juices and energy drinks worth P7, 285 from the suspects. Investigation also showed that the three penetrated the grocery store by destroying the store’s roof.

    The suspects are now detained at the Manaoag Municipal Police station while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.ANTHONY VARGAS
