League leader University of Santo Tomas is scheduled to face Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The game is at 2 p.m.
After toppling their opponents in their previous two games in the competition, the women from Espana will be staking their unbeaten slate against their fellow University Athletic Association of the Philippines squad.
The Lady Tigresses opened their campaign in the country’s top women’s football tournament with a victory against Fuego Espana FC, 7-0, through the double of Charisa Lemoran on last November 12.
They continued their winning form in their second outing against competition newcomers Kaya FC, 8-1, through another scoring outburst by the high-scoring Lemoran.
Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles are still on the run for their first win in the tournament following their initial loss against rivals De La Salle University last weekend.
Also, the DLSU Lady Archers will be playing local women’s football club Hiraya FC in the second game of the day at 4:30 p.m.
The ladies of Taft Avenue currently hold the No. 2 spot of the provisional rankings in the elimination round with two straight wins, behind by just five goals against UST in goal difference.
On the other hand, Hiraya will be looking to bounce back from incurring their first loss of the tournament through the hands of Green Archers United FC, 4-0, last December 4.
The clash between defending champions Far Eastern University and Kaya FC will be capping off the triple-header match date of the PFF Women’s League at 7 p.m.
