Make no mistake; Racal’s focus is solely on one of those coveted top two spots.
“We know we have to be in the top two to get an advantage and the players know our situation,” said coach Caloy Garcia.
And on Tuesday, the Tile Masters will continue on that quest as they go up against Blustar Detergent in the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Garcia points out to the twice-to-beat incentive the top two teams will have in the semifinals, and as Racal hopes to finally advance to the championship round this conference, that bonus sure will bolster his team’s chances of achieving that dream.
“We can’t let others control our destiny so we just have to win as much games as we can,” he said.
But Garcia knows that he can’t underestimate any team, especially the Dragons who they face at 6 p.m.
“They’re playing well din. I think after we beat them by 62, they beat Mindanao. So we know we can’t be complacent,” he said.
The Tile Masters easily dispatched the Dragons, 122-60 in their first round meeting last June 21.
In the first game, Tanduay eyes to go back to its winning ways when it clashes against Topstar ZC Mindanao at 4 p.m.
The Rhum Masters are aching to bounce back after their 108-95 loss to Phoenix last Tuesday, while the Aguilas continue their search for their first win of the tourney.
