Dante Ang 2nd, president and CEO of The Manila Times, was honored on Wednesday as one of the Outstanding Professionals 2014 awardees.

Under Ang’s leadership, The Times, the Philippines’ oldest newspaper, has earned the Superbrand awards numerous times.

SMI President and CEO Harry Tambuatco congratulated this year’s awardees during a program held at New World Hotel in Makati City (Metro Manila).

This year’s other awardees are Barbie Lozano Atienza, External Affairs head of Manila Bulletin and vice president of United Print Media Group (UPMG); Ronald Costales, Organic Agriculture and Farm Tourism expert; Emmanuel Dooc, Philippine Insurance Commissioner; Lars Bøgvad Jeppesen, CEO and co-founder of Tech One Global; Ronald Daniel Ricaforte Mascariñas, president of Bounty Agro Ventures Inc.; Rommel Sangalang, Fortress Business Development Manager of Asia Sugi Financial Services; Gil H. A. Santos, futurist, professional journalist, college professor, geopolitical analyst and environmentalist; Benjamin Tiu, president and CEO of Salem Oceanic Industries Corp.; Jim Cruz Valerio, public officer; and Lars Wittig, country manager of Regus Philippines.
