‘Tis the season … to be busy

Unless your business is in Easter eggs or Halloween costumes, then the season to be busy is truly here again.

Understandably, almost everyone from tertiary industries (that is, “those that sell and deliver goods made by secondary industries,” as Ask.com dependably defines), always aims to maximize profits during the Christmas season, because it is the only time of year when even the most frugal of consumers are happy to spend.

A chain reaction then ensues, which affects those of us in the quinary sector—specifically lifestyle media practitioners—because the tertiary industry launches we have to attend suddenly snowball with a vengeance!

Again, as Ask.com cleverly defines, the quinary sector is where “decision-making in the economy and society” takes place, and it is as part of that industry that we earn the responsibility to inform the public what’s out there for possible purchasing.

Now much as I skipped talking about primary, secondary and quaternary industries thus far (as these would be “so not lifestyle” to read), let me just say that I am happy to play my small part in the movement of the country’s economy, under which all these industries function.

Even more so, I am excited to be part of a process that may possibly bring glee, delight, or ecstasy (yes, even emotions come in levels) to those who will be on the receiving end of the power of the peso. But that’s just me being cheesy.

And so, without further ado, here’s a report on what’s been making the busiest season of 2014.

Rustan’s wondrous Christmas
On November 12, the ever hardworking family behind the country’s premiere luxury retailer, the Tantocos of Rustan’s, continued the tradition of launching the brand’s Yuletide campaign with the lifestyle media.

Over an early Christmas lunch of turkey, cranberry sauce, walnut and rum and eggnog, Anton Huang, executive vice president of Rustan Commercial Corp., welcomed The T-Zone among fellow lifestyle newspaper and magazine editors, and announced that Rustan’s poised as ever to make “shopping a pleasure” in this merriest albeit busiest time of year in all their branches around the country.

“As always we take pride in showcasing the products we have sourced from all over the world for our loyal patrons, which of course, has long been the tradition of Rustan’s,” Anton said of his grandparents Bienvenido and Gleceria Tantoco’s legacy. “And as we dress up all our stores with tinsel and lights, we to hope share ‘Rustan’s Christmas Wonders’ with everyone who walks through our doors.”

And so amid extravagant yet tasteful Christmas displays in Rustan’s department stores, expect to be spoilt for choice with the trusted brands like Josie Natori, Loewe, Majorica, Roberto Coin and Piaget to dress up and accessorize women from head to toe; Pedro del Hierro, Hackett, Ascot Chang and Façonnable for the gentlemen; Baby Club, Little Me and Neck & Neck for children; and Lladro, Meissen and Lalique for the home, among so many others.

Of course, local luxury brands are very much a part of Rustan’s fine collections, among them Jill, Luna, Belissa, Criselda Lontok, Culte Femme and the in-house brands Lady Rustan, Rustanette and Rustan Jr.

But if it’s beauty products you’re after, make sure to grab The Beauty Addict card before heading to Rustan’s The Beauty Source, that heavenly playground of makeup and fragrances from brands like Chanel, Nars, Diptyque, Clinique, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Murad, Mac, L’Occitane and Acca Kappa. Incidentally launched a week before the department store’s Christmas campaign, the card provides customers with exclusive discounts on this endless list of top global labels in cosmetics, as well as complementary products, spa services and more

Besides shopping, visitors to Rustan’s can also expect Yuletide treats such as exhibits, wine-tasting events, holiday music from classical harpists, saxophonists, pianists and carolers, and of course, Santa meet-and-greet sessions, all open to the general public.

Now how wonderful is all that?
