The country’s young booters will get a chance to experience world-class football training through Globe Telecom’s TM Football Para sa Bayan clinic that will unfold July 23 in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
The football clinic is open to children age 10 to 12 including varsity players, underprivileged youth, as well as members of street and private football clubs.
Professional team Green Archers United will facilitate the clinic, aiming to provide comprehensive learning and football experience.
“We want to give or share to them the experiences and knowledge that we get from our previous competitions and inspire them to be the best they can be,” said former Philippine Azkals skipper Chieffy Caligdong during a news conference on Thursday at Conti’s Greenbelt in Makati City.
“We need to teach them not only the skills but also proper attitude,” added Caligdong.
After Iloilo, the camp will proceed to Talisay, Negros Occidental on July 24, Bolton Riverside in Davao City on August 13, and Alabang, Muntinlupa on August 20.
The organizers will pick 12 exceptional participants that will be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September to undergo an Astro Kem Bola Advanced Training Program with their Malaysian and Singaporean counterparts.
“We are proud that Astro has chosen TM Football Para sa Bayan as a venue to discover talented kids who would be given an opportunity to further harness their craft and bring them closer to their dream,” said Globe Director for Citizenship Fernando Esgurerra.
The top participants from the three countries will get another two-week professional training in Europe late this year.
