Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech) recently hosted an assessment activity for industry experts in Automotive Body Repairing and Painting/Finishing to create the country’s first pool of certified assessors under the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Twelve experts in paint and four in body repair underwent free practical examinations to acquire the National Certificate (NC) Level II as Competency Assessors, which certifies them to assess future instructors and trainees of TESDA.
The three-day assessment activity, the first of its kind, was duly supervised by TESDA’s officials who also expressed their gratitude to TMP Tech for continuously supporting the development of TESDA’s various courses in automotive and for pioneering the program that could potentially employ more Filipinos.
With rapid motorization and the rising demand in after-sales service, there is also a growing need for highly-skilled body repair and paint technicians. TMP Tech fully recognizes this potential and gears towards offering an array of curriculum for all types of after-sales service. TMP Tech is one of the few schools in the Philippines offering fully-equipped facilities that include a painting booth, paint preparation room, and auto body repairing units.
