The Manila Times College (TMTC) on Monday inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Caucasus University (CU) in Georgia.

The agreement paves the way for a collaboration of efforts to establish, develop and facilitate offering of online courses, management of an online student newspaper journalism faculty and students.

“We want the students of both schools to write stories concerning their respective countries and have them posted on our website,” said TMTC President Dr. Isagani Cruz.

Cruz added that he envisions all colleges and universities in different parts of the world to contribute to the online newspaper.

Currently, TMTC is administering www.themuralla.com, a website of the college where students can post their articles on socio-political, lifestyle, features, opinions, sports and other topics.

Representing the European university was Consul Thelmo Cunanan, himself a former opinion writer of The Manila Times, who expressed excitement in the exchange of talents, culture and experiences between students of TMTC and CU.

Caucasus University is based in the capital and largest city of Tbilisi. It is one of the leading educational institutions in Europe.

Cruz said besides Caucasus, TMTC currently has MOUs with Esa Unggul University in Indonesia and Thammasat University in Thailand, among others, aside from various universities in the Philippines.
