• TNT seeks sixth win as Barako aims to end losing streak

DEFENDING champion Talk ‘N Text seeks for its third straight win when it battles cellar dweller Air 21 Express while Barako Bull eyes to end its losing streak when it takes on Meralco tonight in the 39th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup elimination round at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

After escaping with an 87-80 overtime victory over Barako Bull on Friday, the Tropang Texters will collide with the Express at 5:15 p.m. while Barako Bull, fresh from absorbing its sixth consecutive setback, hopes to win against Meralco at 8 p.m.
Coach Norman Black’s Tropang Texters are currently carrying a 5-2 win-loss slate and a win over the Express would enable them to remain within striking distance from solo leader Petron (7-0) and Ginebra (6-1). Both Petron and Ginebra, however, were still battling separate foes at presstime.

With only a win so far in eight matches, the Express are given a slim chance over the Tropang Texters, who displayed their old deadly form in their win against Barako Bull.  Air 21’s lone win was over sister team Barako Bull (92-77) on December 7 at the Big Dome. Barako Bull Energy Cola, with a 2-6 card, failed to end a long losing streak after losing to Talk ‘N Text the other day.
